Our pastor told us a little story about looking through a junk yard for what he needed to fix his car. As he looked at the damaged vehicles in the maze of scrunched up cars, he noticed the inside of one had a women’s red shoe by the foot peddle. He was compelled to ask the sales person about the car. “Oh, he said that car was just towed in the other night, a young women in her twenties died instantly from a head on collision. Sorry, we haven’t had time to clean up the inside yet.”
Pastor Bob, thought about that shoe and the young lady whom wore it just a couple nights ago, and before she entered her car had her whole life in front of her. Most likely in a split fraction of a second, her life ended prematurely. How devastating to her family and friends, but more importantly was she ready to depart from this earth and meet her maker? This is a valid question we all need to answer. As hard as it is, we all do not make it until we are 90 years old. God’s will is different than ours, and our days are numbered. No more, and no less but nevertheless, God’s will.
How many of us are ready to meet the Lord? This is a pretty standard question but most avoid entertaining the idea. We all want the opportunity to grab that brass ring, create a life on earth, have a career, get married, raise a family, enjoy grandchildren, purchase that cabin, retire early and in style, oh plus we all want to maintain good health. Where does God come in? Have we allowed Christ to live in us through the years? Is this earth we call home really our home?
This young gal in the auto accident, her life ended suddenly and unexpectedly. Was she ready to meet Jesus? Was she a believer? How tragic for all of us who wait too long, and don’t ever experience the real joy of living with Christ in our hearts. So many opportunities missed, how sad not to experience the fruits of the Holy Spirit. In a split second we could be called HOME. Are you ready? We are not offered a second chance, at least most of us aren’t, and this is something to meditate on.
It’s time to break away from your old self and invite our Lord Jesus Christ to live in you. I promise you will not turn into some weirdo. Instead you should feel confirmation within your spirit (the temple of God), that indeed you are walking on the righteous narrow track that leads to salvation. Allow God to lead, you may be amazed what our Lord has in store for you on this earth he created. Good things come to those who love and serve our Lord. Don’t miss the opportunity God may have for your life. Is it time to break away from your old self? Take God’s hand and feel the warmth of HIS love.

My only suggestion for improvement would be to use an example from your own experience, rather than the Pastor's secondhand one. Either that, or relate the story without saying, "Our pastor told us a little story ..." because the reader then thinks that the Pastor is the clever story teller, not the actual person who wrote the piece.
Other than that, keep writing and honing your skill. I know you are doing it for God's glory, and I know He will always bless those who serve Him.
