The same Dictionary’s meaning of the word “affairs” is: a thing to do; matters of business; any matter or event.
It is my opinion that based on these definitions, one of the most important current affairs of the Christian world is that of soul winning. Soul winning is “of the present time” and certainly is or should be “now going on” and in the Christian realm, it is “commonly accepted, and should be “prevalent.” Hence, I have successfully covered the current in “current affairs.”
Because soul winning is not only “a thing to do” in the daily life of a Christian, part two of the subject matter “current affairs” is covered also. In fact, we are commanded by God to fulfill the Great Commission according to Mark 16:15:
Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. (KJV)
How much more a current affair is the Great Commission? It is current (now going on) and it is not only “a” thing to do, but “the” thing to do as a child of God.
Satisfied I have met the criteria for “current affair(s),” I would offer the reader a little more insight into this current affair called soul winning.
As my pastor describes in his writing “How You Can Fulfill the Great Commission,” we should explain that the payment for sins keeps you out of Hell and the payment for the gift gets you into Heaven.
Many things have been written for, talked about to, and presented to an unsaved person. It is my belief that we must explain to the unsaved person how Jesus paid for our sins when he shed his blood on the cross and died; that we would be foolish to not accept that precious gift. By gift, I mean this: If you buy something for someone in particular, but then ask them for $50 for it…is it a gift? Absolutely not! Even asking $1 for it would not be considered a gift. The only way it is considered a gift is that you buy something for the person and then freely give it to them…no strings attached. The key here is that even though you expect nothing in return, they must receive it.
God has said in His word, the Holy Bible, that salvation is a gift. If the person receives it as such, the angels are rejoicing in Heaven.
Often times, however, people think the only way to Heaven is by good works or being a good person in general. Ephesians 2:8, 9 contradicts that way of thinking:
8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.
9Not of works, lest any man should boast. (KJV)
I accepted Jesus as my Personal Savior on May 29, 1980. It is the greatest gift I have ever been given. It caused me to avoid going to Hell. I thank God for the pastor’s wife whom I had occasion to hire some months prior to my salvation. She took the “current affair” of soul winning seriously and when the computers of our Data Entry Department went down one afternoon, she began talking about Jesus.
I am thankful to be in a great soul-winning, God-fearing church who takes the gospel door to door, person by person to fulfill the commandment of the Great Commission which in my book will always and forever be a “current affair.”

Okay. A couple of "red ink" things. In general, don't mention the topic as being "the topic." Like don't start off with "When I think about [topic]..." And don't start out with dictionary definitions. Finally, if you have to explain how your entry fits the topic, you may be stretching things a bit too far on topic.
Overall, this was pretty good. Keep writing!
Thank you, also, for your comments on BELINDA. I wrote that three years ago and reading it brought back the vivid memories. Be blessed, Bella Rossiter
