There is a little ditty that goes, “Open our eyes, Lord, we want to see Jesus…”. Sometimes our vision seems to be clear and we say, “Yes, I have seen him”. Then, again we lose sight of his glory. Psalm 97, verse 2 tells us that “Clouds and darkness surround him…”. Paul says, “We see through a glass darkly…”. What’s going on here? Why can’t we see Him clearly all the time? Don’t feel so bad. The disciples walked, talked and ate with Him everyday for three years, yet they had trouble seeing Him. “Who do you say I am?”, he asked the disciples. Only Peter got it right, but then, he wavered when his faith was tested. Many years of personal faith struggle have convinced me that I will never be able to see Jesus clearly with my own eyes. My only hope is to see Him through the eyes of the Holy Spirit. The same criteria applies to how I see others. Not only must we see Jesus through the eyes of the Holy Spirit, but that is also the way we must see others. The mandate of unconditional love for all men is not possible through our own eyes, but “with God all things are possible(Mk 9:23).

This is a beautiful devotion. You make your point clearly and use excellent examples.

The only suggestion I might have is to break it into paragraphs.

Keep on writing and spreading the news of God's love.

You gave a very clear and succinct message. But I would have liked to hear a story or two (I love stories). You mention your years of experience. Could you tell one of those to support your point?
