"Tom, as you know President Nelson was a former Hollywood actor; because of his acting abilities he can give a good speech. We are looking for is someone who is the master of his craft, and can make him shine. This interview is to get acquainted with you. If you get through this interview there will be two other interviews. If you get through the third interview you will get the job.”
"Dick looked into Tom's eyes and asked,” Why do you want the job?"
Tom felt a little nervous as he said, "I have always had an interest in politics. I always wanted to work in the White House. I want to work on the other side. I have been in the television business for 20 years I need a change."
"What makes you think you have the skill to write for the president?" said Dick.
"I have been a news anchor for 10 years and political reporter for 20 years at WCCO. I have worked other places as well. I wrote most of my script when I anchored the news, as well as when I went on the scene to report on political stories. My job allowed me to get hard copies of speeches candidates have made. One of my hobbies is I like to contrast and compare speeches from various candidates," you could hear the confidence in Tom's voice as his nervousness went away.
"You have been a political reporter, how do you think that makes you right for the job?" asked Dick.
"Because I have been a political reporter for 20 years, I have heard many bad speeches, and I have heard many good speeches. I feel I have an ear, for what is a good speech. I think my talent will enhance the presidents speaking ability," said Tom.
Dick Smiled as he said, "Very good, I have another person I want to interview. After that I will determine if you get called back."
Tom shook Dick's hand after he got up, "Thanks for the opportunity I look forward to our second interview."
Tom left the room and felt confident about his chances of being hired.

There were a few minor editing details- an extra quotation mark or a capital letter when it should have been lower case, but these typos can be fixed easily.
Your dialogue was believable and interesting.
There are some problems with punctuation, but more importantly, I was expecting some sort of 'kicker'--a lesson, a twist, some 'take-away' from this story which I didn't find.
I liked that you used a fictional President, to avoid strong feelings either for or against the current one. This wasn't about politics; it was about a speech writer, and that's a good thing.
