The walls of heaven echoed with their praises. One hundred thousand voices filled the expanse of their dwelling. Some were loud and strong and full of power while others were soft and soothing. Each voice was distinct in its own right and every single one of them was beautiful.
Like a first class orchestra, they tuned their instruments, waiting for the moment they knew would soon be arriving. The Father stood at rapt attention, missing not the slightest detail. It was about to happen and not even the angels could contain their excitement. There was a sense of urgency, mingled with the ecstatic essence of who they were. Their task had always been simple. They were in charge of worship. However, at this hour there was a slight change in routine. Another mortal was about to receive Jesus.
In another room preparations were underway. The Lamb’s Book of Life lie open, pen at the ready. A golden crown was being constructed, the precious jewels carefully in-laid. Somewhere not too far away a mansion was being erected in honor of their newest blessing. A heavenly being clapped his hands, calling for everyone’s attention.
“Quiet, please! We’re about to start!”
Suddenly the request was granted while all eyes turned to the scene below. They watched like giddy children on Christmas Eve as a man in his 30’s knelt and prayed. Great, racking sobs shook free of his body as he slowly embraced the King of Kings, accepting him into his heart forever. At the moment of surrender a shout broke loose in heaven.
It was finished and they were free to rejoice openly. The hundred thousand voices began singing Hallelujah in different choruses and keys. An angel picked up the golden pen lying next to the Lamb’s Book of Life and inscribed the man’s name with a flourish, a satisfied look on his peaceful face. The celebration lasted for hours. Never had one seen such dancing and singing and merriment. A sinner had repented and given his life to the Lord. Down below, a teenage girl was talking with her pastor…
