Rejoicing in Heaven

The walls of heaven echoed with their praises. One hundred thousand voices filled the expanse of their dwelling. Some were loud and strong and full of power while others were soft and soothing. Each voice was distinct in its own right and every single one of them was beautiful.

Like a first class orchestra, they tuned their instruments, waiting for the moment they knew would soon be arriving. The Father stood at rapt attention, missing not the slightest detail. It was about to happen and not even the angels could contain their excitement. There was a sense of urgency, mingled with the ecstatic essence of who they were. Their task had always been simple. They were in charge of worship. However, at this hour there was a slight change in routine. Another mortal was about to receive Jesus.

It was finished and they were free to rejoice openly. The hundred thousand voices began singing Hallelujah in different choruses and keys. An angel picked up the golden pen lying next to the Lamb’s Book of Life and inscribed the man’s name with a flourish, a satisfied look on his peaceful face. The celebration lasted for hours. Never had one seen such dancing and singing and merriment. A sinner had repented and given his life to the Lord. Down below, a teenage girl was talking with her pastor…
