Topic: It's a Colorful World (12/03/09)
The first forty days the only sound they could hear was the heavy din on the wooden roof of the boat as the rain lashed down from the sky and water gushed out from deep within the earth to drown even the highest mountain peaks to almost twenty feet below.

The next one hundred and fifty days it drizzled steadily that for Noah and his family it was music, as they went about caring, feeding the birds, animals and reptiles, snug in the confines of the huge boat as it floated serenely on the water.

Then suddenly one fine morning it was quiet, so hauntingly silent that even the birds and the animals waited with bated breath, watching and waiting for the din to start anytime.

Then the inevitable happened. The boat with a loud thump rested on the top of the Ararat mountains. Abraham opened a window and sent out a dove,which came with a green leaf from an olive tree, the second time it went out.

Seeing the green leaf after nearly two hundred days in the dim insides of the boat, Noah excited decided that the time had come to step out of the boat. Making an opening in the roof, Noah saw after a long time a wide variety of colors around him. The green grass carpeted with colorful flowers, trees and plants, with buds bursting out from the dirt as life sprouted out from the bowels of the earth to begin its journey from where it stopped.

Stepping out from the boat, Noah, his wife, sons and daughters in law, knelt down and worshiped the Lord the God thanking Him for what all He had done.

Opening his eyes Noah and his family saw God’s promise on the sky, that never again, will He destroy mankind. It was the most beautiful of all His creation- the rainbow, having all the colors of the World.

It’s not that, only Noah could see it, but the entire mankind , see witness His creation.

I think your last line reads a little strangley, but I get the message. You've created a nice setting for a story to take place once they leave the boat. Great desciptions and good writing.

Thank you for the story of Noah and how the beauty of a new earth made him feel. I can only imagine his joy, and seeing the rainbow Whoa how it must have made his heart sing. God bless and have a Merry Christmas.
