I’m stuck where I stand
Surrounded by the valley and its inhabitants.
The darkness is suffocating.
The walls keep moving inside.
The monsters are pining for my demise.
I turn to them.
No longer afraid, I’m ready to fight.
They will not have their way, not this night!
Defeat is not on my tongue.
As I being to ascend
The struggle may be long, but I’ll make it to the end.
This is more than a race.
This is a battle for not just my life.
I’m here to fight for your strife.
This war was waged long before my time
And still I am asked to fight.
I will be one of His warriors, His knights.
I will rise above the bleak shadows
I will survive this valley
On the mount, I will sound the call to rally!
With the sword of the Spirit
Wearing the armor of God
No enemy will be able to break my charge!
The gnashing of teeth may sound
But I am not alone where I stand
With God, even in the valley, victory is at hand!
