Other people say Russian Roulette with five rounds in a six gun
Through a self created haze it never was clear
Just how close death was, it was so very near
Each night was a blur, I think, I can't remember
Thanks to the Lord I always got the empty chamber
I thank Him daily, I thank Him often
If it weren't for Him I would be in a coffin
I lived like this and had all the time
Of all lives to save why was it mine
We've talked since my childhood I said to the Lord
Sometimes so often I thought You were bored
"Never my child" came back to me "hearing from you I took with much glee"
You've been lost all your life or thats what you thought
What I had in store for you could never be bought
Now you're back to a bridge you burned many times before
The one that leads to Me and Heavens Golden Shore
You've worked for the Devil, I can see, that you dread
Now I have a job for you doing My work instead
I kept you alive because I gave you a gift
There are people you can help, lives you can lift
Now listen to Me and do what I say
The Russian Roulette gun will go far, far away
Doing my work can be fun, yes it's true
It comes from the inside and thats the real you
Talk to all people about what you called life
How drugs cost you everything including the death of a wife
About how your friends aren't around anymore
Because you are sober doesn't make you a bore
Talk to young people about the good things and all the misery partying brings
Do this for me and I will reward
Remember I already have
I rebuilt your bridges and I was nailed to a board
