You know no God
but Me,
and besides Me
there is no Savior.
[Hosea 13:4]
*************************
"Dear Lord."
"I am here, child."
"Why must love always
be so sad?"
[SILENCE.]
"Yeah. I know.
Love always starts out
as great joy. But,
in the end, it only
brings horrific pain."
[SILENCE.]
"I mean, sooner
or later loved ones
will leave you. It's
just when you're
young, you don't
know that, do you?"
"Some learn very
young, child."
"Yeah, that's true,
Lord. But, then
why do we long for
love, so much?
It seems to be
part of the human
condition; we
can't seem to
avoid it."
[SMILE.]
"And, for how
long did you
spend avoiding
Me, child?"
"Well, Lord.
I wasn't brought
up to love YOU:
only to FEAR You!
That was different!"
"Ah, I see."
(silence)
"But, then I
didn't know about
Christ Jesus.
I didn't know what
He had done for me,
and about His Love
for me."
[SILENCE.]
"His was an
Unrequited Love,
and I never knew."
[SILENCE.]
"And yet, you still
often turn away
from Me, child."
"Terrible things happen,
Lord. And, then I
tell myself,
Oh! Why should I
love HIM? WHY?"
[NOD.]
"But, then, I only feel
very cold and dead
inside: like a stone,
or......outer space."
[GENTLE VOICE]
"And then, child?"
(smile)
"Well! Then, I
turn back to You,
Lord! And, I can
feel the sun on my
face....and in my
heart, once more!"
"Ah. I see, My beloved."
"I'm really glad that
somebody took the time
out to tell me about
Christ Jesus, Lord."
"Why is that, child?"
"Well, cuz' I think
only through Christ Jesus
have I let down my
pride...."
"And?"
"And, longed to
return Your Unrequited Love."
