Now it is not my intention to offend anybody with this article. So if you are offended I apologize ahead of time. I was listening to a popular mainstream radio station and heard an 80’s song entitled, “We’re not going to take it anymore” and it got me to thinking that as Christians we should be standing up and not taking it anymore.
As Christians we have been sitting back in our easy chairs, with our cold drinks, watching the world revolve around us. Now I do not about you but I seem to remember a certain person, now what was His name? Oh Yeah! His name is Jesus and if memory serves me well, at my age that takes a lot, Jesus told us to go and make disciples.
Now I do not think we can be doing a very good job of making disciples by sitting in our pews or our easy chairs. We need to get out on the streets proclaiming the message of s risen Savior to a world where the truth seems have been forgotten as quickly as the latest music sensation when they drop out of the top forty. Now I am not saying that you should go the downtown of your local city with one of those old wooden soapboxes and at the top of your lungs proclaim the message. Well if you want to do that that would be ok to.
I am saying we need to not so quietly raise our voice: with our speech, with our votes, with our prayers, with our writing, with whatever God has given us to use. We need to tell others about Jesus and do it quickly before it is too late. We have been quiet too long and it is time that we as Christians started to tell others we are still here and we are not going away quietly.
