What was there is no longer anymore
It is faded into the past I know
Unreachable on the distant shore
Sadness overtakes my heart I know
Sadness because of what is now gone
Sadness that I can never return
To what I once called my only home
Not sadness over the life I lived
But Sadness over friendships that were lost
Over loved ones that have passed away
Sadness over what was left in the past
