In our very own home, it is a common habit to unwind the hustle and bustle felt earlier that day, as we gather all the accumulated garbage that consists of paper, dust, and various unnecessary things, we wish to get rid of. After gathering all there is to dispose, the garbage collector comes each week to fetch the baggage. This helps us live in a more tranquil and peaceful manner.
Can you imagine if there were no garbage collectors to remove all the waste? I wonder what would happen if all these years, garbage had been lying in the house, accumulating each time? This would cause chaos and havoc to your mind and body. Your house will be in total disorder.
The world is comprised of various kinds of garbage that consist of greed, lust, crime, anger, drugs, and everything that composes the three-letter word sin. Sin has ruled our daily lives from the air we breathe, to the people we meet, and the things we do.
If we just stopped for a moment to look inside our hearts, and actually cleanse daily what we have inside, removing all the filth we have been carrying all this time, we will definitely feel the difference.
Our hearts are filled with bitterness,
resentments, anger, frustration, wickedness and many painful memories that have been attached to us. Though it may be difficult to get rid off, it is indeed our own garbage that we have accumulated all these years.
What started as a seed is a manifestation of what we possess in our heart. On the other hand, if we choose to constantly guard our heart and throw all the impurity left in us, what is stored inside could breed beautiful flowers outside. For how we act, speak and treat others is just a mirror of what we are inside.
If everybody would maintain this habit, wounds will be healed, relationships would be saved, hurt will vanish, hatred will turn into love, darkness will be filled with light, peace will overcome war, and all evil will turn into good.
Nevertheless, in this insane world like ours, God sent His very own, pure and flawless garbage collector Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for our sins. He compiled all the garbage we have inside, and in return offered us salvation as a gift.
Could you imagine if everybody chose to invite Jesus in our hearts, and accept Him as our Savior? We will never be alone in guarding our hearts, for He will always be guiding us to keep it pure and sweet.Isn’t it inspiring to know that when God is present, all evil is lost? If you choose to walk hand in hand with Jesus in your heart, He will always whisper beautiful and encouraging words that will bury, and overpower all the garbage you have long carried inside.
This pure and perfect garbage collector was sacrificed for us sinners who are not worthy of Him, yet, despite all the garbage we possess, He chose to forgive, and have mercy on us. Jesus is knocking in your heart, isn’t it time to make that change?
