So began this new adventure — as that is what I believed this to be, by getting a good nights’ sleep. Shortly after dawn, I walked the field, enjoying the warmth of the sunny morning. Afterwards, I dined on fresh foods culled from the market, and this routine became my daily habit.
I would be remiss to fail to mention that this journey was not without roadblocks. Old habits are hard to break, and frequent lapses in judgement enabled laziness, thus ignoring my field. In addition, there were issues that came down from nature that stalled my working the back 40. Yet, the desire of caring for my own field was stronger than my nonchalantness, and over and over again, I would begin anew with restored enthusiasm.
Two years later, after faithfully working the field, it was time to reap the rewards. The harvest was complete, for as I stepped the field upon the scales, that fat of the land had finally melted away— all 50 pounds of it.
My body was my field, and the harvesting of excess poundage was like removing unwanted weeds. On-going cultivation of exercise, healthy eating, and adequate rest led to renewed health and restoration of energy.
The working of the field did not cease due to the gleaning of its fruits, for it needed constant attention in order to maintain its productivity. I must never return to my previous life of over-consumption, but should strive to keep my field in high-yielding condition. The work is plenty, but that harvest will remain few.

I loved this creative piece. I could really identify with your plight.
I have also been living off the fat of the land for many years.
I need to pick up on my walking but I just began to lose weight again
I will be cheering for you.
