To fans of meteorology
For an inborn inside track
I use to sniff out coming rain
The maps and super smart devices
Reporting storms and scary crises
Are fine for those who do not trust
My predictions fueled by pain
This barometric body knows
Approaching highs and sneaky lows
And never fails to let me feel
The latest news down to my toes
A TV guy declares out loud
The skies are blue without a cloud
But I just smile and listen to
Those joints that scream right through my clothes
Fingers aching, knees not bending
A sure-fire flag tempest is pending
Global climate warm or freezing
May have some points I do not buy
But pressures from within my form
Report a front is at my door
No matter news that’s up-to-date
My aching limbs will never lie
A heads-up notice on the score
Sprinkle small or big downpour
Air pressure nudges from without
But more important as a guide
Like Holy Spirit in our hearts
(That still small voice that sends those darts)
To warn of danger on horizons
It pays to heed the turning tide
Storms may come, and storms may go
To drench our crops or overflow
Fall on the just as well as not
But in the end the bottom line
Considers how we meet what comes
And how we total up our sums
So, when precip is on the way
I feel so blessed…there was a sign!

Blessings~
They just had a segment on our local news about people, especially arthritis suffers, who can feel the pain in their joints before rainy weather.
Congratulations on your 2nd place finish in EC.
This poem was well crafted. I liked how you tied in the storms of life with God guiding you through them
