a miracle,
an inkling
that something had begun,
The healing of a Roman's boy,
the casting out
of demons.
And something was afoot.
There was our net that overflowed
with jumping fish,
an abundance,
when we'd caught nothing.
The widow's son raised back to life,
more healing,
miracles,
as we watched on.
The raging fearsome storm,
its fury tamed
by your command
of "Peace be still".
And something told us all
that you
were not
an ordinary man.
So many pointing signs
were telling us,
convincing us,
you were Messiah.
The clues were building up,
the evidence
of your great love
in all you said and did.
You broke through boundaries,
for the women,
for the lepers,
the uncircumcised.
You walked on stormy water,
multiplied food,
and raised the dead
like no mere man.
We saw the mounting clues,
and knew
you were
God's special Son.
We followed you beyond the cross
to resurrection
regeneration,
our Saviour Lord.
