If summer lingers the joy
I feel is eternal
If winter blizzards the Rock
I cleave to is immovable
I’m in the world but not of it
I’m in the boat but not of it
If it floats serenely the peace
I carry is deeper
If it rides cyclonic waves the wind
that blows can’t reach me
I’m in the boat but not of it
I’m in the crowd but not of it
If harmony hovers the song
I sing is for just One
If rioting spreads the arrows
of hate won’t pierce me
I’m in the crowd but not of it
I’m on the cross but not of it
If tendons stretch to snap the pain
I willingly yield to is cleansing
If Death comes to call the voice
I hear is homeward
I’m on the cross but not of it
I’m in the world but not of it
If flesh shapes me the truth
I am exists in Christ
If others know me the authenticity
I am is Christ in me
I’m in the world but not of it
