When what you’d done was meant for good,
The words you should have left unsaid
And ones you wish you’d said instead,
The grief that weights you like a shroud
Till anguish makes you cry aloud,
The nights unending you’re awake,
Concerned for which path you should take,
Your disappointment and dismay
When by a loved one you’re betrayed,
The pains that come, too great to bear
And moans you utter in despair,
The nights unending you’re awake,
Concerned for which path you should take,
The failing strength that weakens you
When there’s more work you need to do,
The fear and worries that oppress
And doubts that leave you in distress,
The times you’re tempted to give in
When Satan calls you into sin.
God understands your every care
The heavy burdens that you bear,
Your weakness when you would be strong
Your sorrow when you’ve done things wrong,
Your motives, buried deep inside,
The peace you long for to abide.
God’s loved you from the very start.
He holds you ever in His heart.
He blots out sins that you confess
And fills you with His righteousness.
He’ll be your strength when you are weak
And bring to you the peace you seek.
He’ll never leave you all alone
But love you always as His own.
