I’d tossed the long night through.
So much was out of my control,
I knew not what to do.
I worried for my loved one’s health
Though I was sure I shouldn’t.
I wished that I could make him well,
But I knew that I couldn’t.
I had concerns for unknown threats
From silent enemy,
The virus that endangers us,
Wherever we might be.
I prayed for all my family,
Each one so very dear,
With hope we’ll be together soon
When they can visit here.
I searched for comfort in the Psalms,
Then said the Twenty-third,
And thanked God for encouragement
That I find in His Word.
When all at once, a verse appeared
About the path ahead,
How God would make the crooked straight
And by Him I’d be led.
That promise gave He to my heart,
One I knew He would keep.
Such sweet assurance did I feel,
I promptly went to sleep.
