Who slyly ate fruit?
Silently complicit
As temptation grew
And hid from God.
Who was the thief?
Who stole a look back?
At her past life of sin
As sulfur rained down
Consuming her.
Who was the thief?
Who pillaged some loot
And hid it in his tent
Disobeying God
And stoned to death.
Who was the thief?
Who in dark of night
Snuck to meet with leaders
And gave Christ to them
Sealed with a kiss.
Who is the thief?
Who takes a man’s wife
Bedding her with passion
Destroying vows made
Sanctity lost.
Who is the thief?
Who is on the clock
And uses the Internet
For private business
A time robber.
Who is the thief?
Who goes to a bar
Resolves to drive home drunk
Collides with a car
Killing a life.
Who is the thief?
Who won’t admit sin
And confess to the Lord
Walking in darkness
Living a lie.
