Floats to the ground right down to me
Dead, yet color's a ruddy hue
Soft against sky so bright and blue
I lift my heart and He looks down
And sees His child in bridal gown
The changing autumn life and leaf
Pokes like a sword released from sheaf
Pricking the heat lulled summer daze
Waking the heart to songs of praise
I lift my heart and He looks down
And loves His child in bridal gown
Oh! The first brisk days of Fall
Call forth youth, no, one and all
To rise up, move, shake and shift
Love the One who gives the gift
Of life that starts when like the leaf
A death gives life beyond belief
I lift my heart and He comes down
To capture His church in bridal gown
I lift my heart and He comes down
The Groom for His love in bridal gown
