Gloria Randall heaved a sigh of relief as the elevator took her to her eleventh floor apartment. It had been a week of stress and turmoil for the Junior Sales Executive as far as dealing with her two co-workers was concerned. They were both arrogant and uncooperative when it came to making decisions regarding the recent sales promotion. Their boss, Jerry Matthews, seemed to be leaning towards the ad campaign they had presented, and gave Gloria’s ideas little attention.
Gloria slid the key into the lock on her door, entered, and quickly shut out the world. This weekend she planned to have a prayer session with God as to how her future might be decided. She was one step away from resigning her prestigious position and looking elsewhere for employment. She relocked the door, slid on the safety latch, and burst into tears.
Cynthia Layman and John Stein were the cause of Gloria’s distress. They were not Christians, and sought to run ads that were as close to vulgar as one could get without crossing the line. Their reasoning was that the target audience was to singles and not, as they put it, to “goody-two-shoes” like Gloria. The latest trend in advertising was to shock and awe, and Gloria could not bring herself to sign on to such trash.
Cynthia was a single woman who had many male friends. John was married with two children, but had the reputation of being very much the ladies’ man. Their morals were as different from Gloria’s as night and day. That very day, Gloria had shocked the both of them when she stood up and announced she would be unavailable to work with them over the weekend, as she felt the need for a small vacation.
Yes, this weekend would be a two day long prayer with God for an answer to Gloria’s dilemma. She had worked hard to achieve her current status, and her ads had always sold merchandise. They were geared to a multifaceted audience, and always with a wholesome theme. However, these past few months had seen her ideas not being promoted as they had in the past. Something was wrong, and Gloria left the office today with a strong feeling of uncertainty. She only knew she would not compromise her faith.
Gloria plopped into her favorite chair and reached for her Bible. She opened the book at random, and suddenly, a verse jumped out at her.
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. Proverbs 3:5-7
Gloria then realized she had failed to trust God this past week, but instead allowed herself to become angry and resentful towards her co-workers. This wasn’t the first time they had made rude comments in reference to her Christianity, but today their remarks had gotten the better of her.
The following 48 hours were spent in solitude and deep prayer, Gloria wept as she prayed, and fasted. By Sunday evening, she knew what she must do. Trust God.
Monday morning, Gloria walked into her boss’s offices and tendered her resignation with one hand and a proposal for the ad campaign with the other. “Jerry, take one or the other. I cannot lower my values to approve of the campaign my co-workers have offered.”
Jerry Matthews looked surprised, but nodded his head. “Gloria, I understand your position. Let me mull it all over, and I will get back to you.”
That evening, at precisely five o’clock, Jerry called Gloria and asked her to come to his office. His voice was somber and left no hint of what his decision might be. John and Cynthia passed her on the way into Jerry’s office, and they both glared at her.
Jerry nodded to the chair in front of his desk, and indicated for Gloria to sit. He cleared his throat and spoke. “Gloria, you have been an asset to this company for several years. Your campaigns have always made money. I respect your values, and I will not accept your resignation. Your ad will run.”
John and Cynthia both left their positions at the end of the month to sell their campaigns elsewhere. By the end of the first quarter, Gloria’s new ad generated more than 8 million dollars in revenue for her company, and Gloria was promoted to Senior Sales Executive. There is a plaque on her desk that simply reads, Trust God.

I noticed you used a comma before a conjunction a few times, but it didn't connect two independent clauses or wasn't separating items in a list, so there shouldn't be a comma. Also remember to use a hyphen between words that combine to make an adjective like eleventh-floor apartment and two-day-long prayer.
Your pacing was great. I liked the ending too. You put a lot of story into only 750 words and did it quite nicely. I liked your Bible verse too. It really backs up your message.
