On sandaled feet, to love, serve, teach and heal the people. Unrelenting and purposefully he went from town to town; at times under fire from his opposers. He was unbreakable, unbending and inflexible because His mission gave Him purpose. Beautiful feet in high places of worship, of love for fellow men, under criticism and death threats.
Jesus’ feet were not made of clay. As iron, He was not weak and not easy to wish away. Yet He allowed a nail of iron to immobilise Him on a Cross. He humbled himself as He took our sins upon Himself.
The pain must have been indescribable. He was human. As he hung on the Cross, his bodyweight pushed the torture tool deeper and deeper into his feet.
But, He stayed! Yes, he stayed for the greater prize, which was to set us free from the law of sin and death.
Romans 6:7 “But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.”{ESV}
So, to win us back, there was only one way.
1 Peter 1:18-20 English Standard Version (ESV)
‘you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you who through him are believers in God,...’
It was a Plan of God before Creation. The plan needed his feet; obedient and compliant with The Father’s Will.
