Topic: DULL (05/12/17)
There are some things I can’t do anymore. The unrelenting passage of time brought me a fresh challenge this morning as I rode on a double-decker bus to visit my husband in hospital. When we came to England on holiday he loved going upstairs on a bus even when it was sheer determination rather than strength and ability that got him there. Now he is in hospital, unable to even stand unaided while I have to use the downstairs disability seating. We’re not on holiday anymore but residents and so grateful for our many blessings.

Is life uneventful and uninspiring because of our age limitations? Is it boring or tedious? Far from it! It is an exciting, ever extending learning curve of new experiences with a childlike expectation of the new horizons we see on each day’s travels. I am reminded of 1 Corinthians 13:11 & 12.

Verse 11: When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child…

It was difficult in our younger years to imagine growing older, and now I see that difficult as it was for us then so it is now for a younger generation to empathise with our situation. They may have a vague idea of the difficulties that come with age, but imagine that it won’t be the same for them. One has to experience to understand, and only in a relationship with Jesus Christ and the knowledge of what is in store for us can we live in joyful expectation.

Verse 12: Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

From the windows of the hospital room I look out across a wide river, and today it was shrouded in mist. Grey and brooding with showery breezes dappling the ripples it was hard to imagine the difference from its appearance on a sunny day, but that is what life is about.

Some days it may be gloomy but seasons come and go with Son-shine always ahead.

Some very poignant thoughts, especially for us facing those days.

I found myself questioning my own emotional state concerning what I can and can't do now as compared to younger days.

Good job with the topic.

The lack of articles in front of some words like "hospital" set me back. It might be just your local or cultural normal usage, but it caught my attention. It might be my ignorance of other forms of grammar or something of which I am unfamiliar.
