Don’t look back but move ahead,
We’re often told to do.
But there are times we must look back,
To remember, refresh, renew.
It’s easy for us to walk through life,
Thinking all is well.
We forget the past from where we came,
When headed straight for Hell.
Back to the basics, day by day,
Remembering why we rejoice.
Fanning the flame to a newfound love,
Making the ultimate choice.
Sharing a hope with friends and family,
Rekindling the marriage spark.
Cherishing memories of kiddos, now grown.
Stepping into the light, from the dark.
Like reading, writing, and arithmetic,
Keeping it simple and pure.
Like the A,B,C’s of the Christian walk,
Making our future secure.
Remember your blessings every day,
And God’s unending grace.
The steps we’re taking today and tomorrow,
Enable us to finish life’s race.
A reward is waiting, of this I’m sure.
My home is Heaven above.
I’ll cherish the memories, but move forward with hope,
Made strong by the Father’s love.
