This was great. What a gift you give those during their last moments.

I did notice you switched tense a couple of times and I was a bit confused at first about the man I thought he was alive then realized it was a picture.

You have a delightful sense of humor and you made me giggle. I personally enjoy spiders but even I might yelp in this case. Nicely done.

This was heart-warming, heart-breaking and comical, all wrapped up in one delightful story! I enjoyed the read beginning to end! I could just picture the sweet and loving Winterbottom couple as I read! But in the other home, the spider would have probably ended my work there…especially when suggested, Mr Parker-Bailey was conjuring them up from the grave! LOL Loved the message this showed, by your contrasting homes, that money does not buy you happiness and being poor doesn’t mean you can’t live a happy, fulfilled life! It is so sad that so many today equate happiness and a person’s worth with owning lots of things and having money! This just had so much food for thought in it, just a terrific job! And you certainly qualified for earth angel status! LOL
Linda said it all - just like to add how much I enjoyed all of this story. God bless you.

Very evocative start, which could have pleasurably stretched into a whole series of conversations at the risk of slipping into off-topic territory! To which you pushed us back with great gusto (I never spider threat approaching, but suddenly there we were!) A very enjoyable read, but after re-reading I still could not work out where Ruth came from. Still, I can't complain, as my wordplay entries have been known to often leave readers out of the loop.

What a wonderful snack of a read. I say snack because I could see this as an entire book. I'll bet you have dozens of similar stories, each special and unique in their own way (assuming this was non-fiction. And if fiction, well I bet you could make up dozens more.)

Captivated my heart and soul.
