Regarding multiple personalities...and kinda hard to believe.
However, I've learned - first-hand - that it's true.
And I learned it the hard way...so I'll pass it on to you.
.
At first she was "Mommy", who was ever so kind,
Overlooking my faults , as if she were deaf, dumb and blind.
Then at night she'd sing softly, "Shhh....don't make a peep,
'Cause you'll wake up your Poppa who is fast asleep."
But as we both got older she turned from Mommy to "Mom",
She'd shout, "Don't slam the door, dear, It sounds like a bomb!"
Or "Turn down that boom box, you're rattling the house,
and you're not going anywhere in that low cut blouse!"
So the first chance I got - I walked out the door to get a taste of life
Becoming a pauper and a poet first, then a mother and wife.
."Shhh.....May I tell you a secret, just between you and me?
I wish I'd known my" Mother"...in her last and final personality."
I know I'd have loved her as she loved me.
And yet I didn't have the patience to wait and see
Regrets will be with me until the day I die...
"Rest in peace, dear Mother...and don't you cry."
