Topic: Worship (04/02/26)
During the church service, Sheena tried to sing, but the worship music persistently called her into the Secret Place; it pulled her in, spirit, soul, and body.
She moved into a Deep place and had no desire to leave. In this place, she was unaware of anything or anyone except the Glorious Holiness of God. “Praise the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre” {Psalm 150:1-3}.’True worship involves focusing all devotion, time, and praise on God, avoiding the temptation to make idols out of worldly things’.

The chords of the operatic music Handel’s Messiah removed all else from her mind. Her thoughts were all about Jesus; the Glorious Holy Messiah. She fell to her knees, tears streaming down her face as she was drawn further into The Place where His glory dwells. It was Easter Sunday, and the thoughts of all that Jesus suffered to set her free were overwhelming. Incredible that His virgin birth, His place of birth, His lineage, His healing ministry, His death, and resurrection were prophesied in the Old Testament...three hundred times in all.
“Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel” {Isaiah 7:14}.

Truths about Almighty God’s love, His Goodness, and His Power, as written in Psalm 62:2, says that “He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken. He created this earth from nothing. He spoke it all into existence”.
{Psalm 19:1 says "The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork" His power is manifested in the things He created and they speak of Him. Shena worshiped The Lord because of His creation, especially when she goes for daily walks. Isaiah says “....the whole earth is full of his glory". {Isaiah 6:3}.

Her daily ‘heart, soul and mind food’ was The Word, as Paul wrote “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things” {Colossains 3: 2,16] “ and “Let the spoken word of Christ have its home within you dwelling in your heart and mind—permeating every aspect of your being…. singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God”. The chaos in the world, seen in the daily local and global news, the political conflicts and the hate-filled savagery drove her deeper into God- The Father, Son and Holy Spirit; and pushed her into intercession for God’s Peace.

Worshipping God in church with others, alone on her walks, at the kitchen sink, with the local Christian radio stations, and in her bed at night was reinforced by David and Moses. Moses emphasized having no other gods and warned against worshipping anything else.{Exodus 20:3}.
Jesus’ instruction was that "You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve". [Luke 4:8 and Matthew 4:10].
Serena and millions of other Christ followers all over the world worship The Lord, and one day, in eternity.
“God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”{Revelation 21:3-4}.

This is a lovely piece. I can relate to all the angst of the world and wonder how people who don't know Jesus make it through. I'd urge you to consider focusing on just one or two Bible quotes at most. Too many can overwhelm readers and have them skip over parts or your article altogether. I bet if you went and counted your words, you'd be surprised that close to a third or more are Bible verses. It's great to quote the Bible, but make sure most of the word count is in your voice. Your words and thoughts are great, thought-provoking, and powerful for sure. You have a lovely message that people need to hear and that many can understand and relate to. You did a nice job of writing on topic too.

You pulled me in to Sheena’s need to praise and worship and all the feelings she had just like King David did in Psalms.

Something that helped me when writing my stories was to integrate the Scripture verse by sharing her thoughts and capture the essence of the verse instead of quoting the verses verbatim.

You did a great job on writing the story on topic. Keep up the good work!
