Until that other half is found, we feel incomplete, restless, unfulfilled. The fact that others seem to have it "all together" only seems to add salt to our open wound, as we strive to find the missing half of our own card.
The missing half of the card is symbolic of whatever it is that we feel we need to find in life. These "whatevers" can be good or evil, as can be the means to secure them.
It is if and when whatever we plan on doing is in line with what God desires that we can expect divine support.
Sometimes, what we want to be, what we want to have, and with what we want to do lines up with what God has in mind, but our timing is not in sync with His.
Many believers, with good intentions (2Sam. 7) decide on an area or type of ministry, or on a project they want to embrace. They then expect God's support for what they have planned, only to learn that God has other plans.

Such things are the right match for someone else, but not necessarily for you! Beware of the, "What I would do..." input from others (Gen. 16).
It is God who chooses the individual spiritual gift each that each believer will receive (1Cor.12: 7) and the accompanying assignment(s) that he or she is to accomplish (1Cor. 12: 11) with it. Many of us are given the same gift, but how the same gift will be applied can be quite different. See Romans 14: 4.
No matter where we are or what we are otherwise doing, discipleship is a 7 day, 24 hour, lifestyle.
Like a face card that has been torn in two halves, only the plan that God has in mind for each born again believer is going to the perfect match for each individual believer.
Keep in mind that the spiritual gift that we are given is NOT primarily for our own benefit, but for the spiritual benefit of others (1Cor. 12: 11).
The identification, development, and execution of our individual spiritual gift and accompanying assignments are major components of our post salvation spiritual life. But God is to be acknowledged (Proverbs 3: 6) in the midst of ALL of our DAILY activities.
God has a perfect match in mind for each and every area of our daily lives. These matches are the principles of Bible Doctrine.
Unbelieverss never seek divine guidance when making plans. To their own hurt,many believers do not seek divine guidance when making their plans. That is, until they have tried everything else first, or until their own decisions have brought them to the end of their ropes.
In the realm of spiritual combat, God and the devil provide means through which Man can choose to receive guidance. Therefore, one must be aware of wolves in sheep's clothing (Matt. 7: 15), and other means that the devil would have us embrace.
Internet search engines, social media, relatives, friends, "religious" clergy, parents, teachers, coaches, advisers, counselors, past experiences, fortune tellers, idolatry, Tarot cards, horoscopes, omens, and an unlimited choice of pursuits of the things that the devil's world has to offer can provide one with "an" answer, but not necessarily the Biblical answer that you need to receive.
Even a clock with frozen hands can be right twice a day, but hardly a good source for 7 - 24 guidance.
Paul was recognized as an authentic spokesman of God, yet his teachings were subjected to verification through available Scripture by the ancient Berians (Acts 17: 11). Should we dare to do anything less with the sources of our spiritual guidance?
Subject to prohibitions imposed by both political and religious authority throughout the course of the Church Age, believers have access to the completed Canon of Scripture (The Bible) to be used, "...for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness (2Tim. 3: 16 NASB)."
Within the pages of Scripture are all the perfect matches that God has in mind for you!
