I'd enthusiastically volunteered to take care of my daughters dog ; just under a month, of perpetual dog-sitting. But that was completely fine. I love that little dog.
On about the 5th day I had him, Gaucho began to show signs of distress. He wasn't eating and he wasn't active. After almost 24 hours of this same condition, I decided to take him to his local Veterinarian.
As we were parking, Gaucho became almost frantic. He went from absolute lethargy, to wildly expressive. I knew from past experiences, that he hated his trips to the Vet. He didn't understand the Vet. He only knew that it was a place of discomfort. After all, his only visits there, were a result of his being significantly ill. Or, on other occasions, he had been there to endure his annual shots ; A long needle plunged deep into the flesh of his hips, an acute, and to him, merciless procedure.
However, about an hour later, we were on our way back home, Gauchos condition, already remarkably improved.
And I, the indirect cause of his misery, promised him aloud, to take Jalapeño Jerky, off of his treat list.

In the aftermath of Gaucho's trip to the Vet, an obvious truth occurred to me, so basic that the average person might just know it as a matter of fact. But for me it was a new and encouraging insight.
The dog hated the vet, and dreaded his inevitable visits. He didn't understand why we would bring him there. To him, what I was doing was unexplainable and decidedly cruel. I didn't speak Dog, and therefor wasn't capable of explaining these unpleasant visits.

Just as we can't speak Dog, we cannot speak God. Gods Holiness and omniscience, set him completely apart from anything we could ever imagine or think. As The Father, He exists in a realm and in a context that we have no capacity to fathom. But to bridge that gap, He sent us His Son, His one and only Son, to mediate on our behalf's. What we cant understand about God, The Son is able to translate for us. He works tirelessly before the Father, lobbying for our understanding, while beseeching The Father, for forgiveness of our sins. The more time we spend with The Son, the more we are able to enter into the fullness of the Father, gradually learning His language.

If I could speak Dog, I could assure Gaucho that his trips to the vet were the necessary things that kept him healthy and ultimately pain free, consequently increasing his life span and its quality. He would happily endure the temporary inconvenience of discomfort, knowing that it was in his own best interest.
By comparison, the more we allow the Saviour to guide and direct our lives, the more we will understand that our valley's and our failures, are all a part of The Masters plan. When we're in our deepest despair, for whatever reason, even baffled by our troubling circumstances, we can rest assured that The Lord has us right where He wants us. And He has us there because He loves us, and is looking after our own best interests.

There are those in society that are quick to criticize God, questioning why a loving God would allow so much dysfunction in the world. So much pain and sickness and suffering. But they are as clueless to God, as Gaucho was to me, on his way to the Vet. Unable to understand that for everything God does or allows, there is a reason that is anchored in His love toward us.
The more we listen to The Master, the more we will increasingly learn to speak God.
Isaiah 55:8. "My thoughts are not your thoughts, saith The Lord. Neither are my ways, your ways.

Some of the punctuation could be revised. I think a few unnecessary commas could go, the odd possessive apostrophe...I have found the lessons on punctuation (grammar? ...can't remember their titles) on this site to be very helpful.
It was an enjoyable article, nevertheless!
