ADD TO MY FAVORITES
of a sun kissed cloud
where I feel Your breath
mingled with grace
and wisest counsel
with truth as pure as snow
still floating
down to earth
I stand there too;
refreshed by Your gentle winds
I soar like an eagle
in leisurely skies,
while never leaving
Your Holy Mountain.
Sitting in Heavenly places
at the same time down below
in the world but no more of it
surrounded by angelic voice
near the throne and mercy’s home
toiling in everyday fashion
clothed in riches
while disrobing mortality’s rags.
My world, it’s boundaries expanded
confined to a hidden cleft
within the borders of life and death;
no fear to walk in valleys below
humbled to scale peaks of bliss
and victories sure,
because You chose to climb another mountain.
In my day to day, year to year
eternal truths quell the voice of death;
over the loud, noisy lies
I hear whispered promises
where I see Your majesty,
taste Your glory
a place Your commands are written
with Your nail scarred Hand
not on stone but Your law engraved
on my heart of flesh
here on Your Holy Mountain.
Down below my soul
can touch the mountain
no longer can it destroy me,
no longer crush me
since clothed in Your righteousness
I’m changed from worthless stone
here on Your Holy Mountain.
As we walk together
upon the heights
just a glance from You
reflects upon my darkness
like a million suns
to break through earthly veils
not just my own
over all those blinded
by the lie to chase away
all earthly shadows,
where I walk among the dead.
Then I sit upon your knee
a Fatherly embrace
by Your Mighty arms
drives every enemy away
and as I lean upon Your breast
You protect as a mother bear
threatened to be robbed of her cubs
while here on Your Holy Mountain.
I’m safe here with my King
who calls down
to my frightened soul below
down into the dens below
where lions roar
knowing they cannot touch me
for my enemy is their meal;
therefore I can rest
where Earth and Heaven join in kiss,
and a soft breeze floats my way
aromas of lilacs and honeycomb
sure to sweeten down below
to pits of darkness and despair.
I’ll cling to Your Mountain
never, never let go
in times of deepest sorrow
when Your hands and feet
my sprit touch
for my mortal body
You will raise on high
for in the fellowship
of your suffering
the glory of resurrection
will meet in perfect unity
a love firstborn and ever to grow
here on Your Holy Mountain
where I now sit with You.
