mixed ingredients, complementary to eat
I never knew God had planned a treat
- a lifetime of knowing you
A combining of taste - from parts of the world
a mixing of textures as cultures are swirled
in His stirring bowl His plans are unfurled
in a lifetime of knowing you
I knew the imbalance of my limited taste
as I sought the master's face
now not a drop has gone to waste
in this lifetime of knowing you
He's taken the fibre of broken hearts
And grated the hardness of isolation
Mixed in His love to soften or souls
And garnished us! A new creation
He’s added ingredients of faith and love
With delicate spices of simple trust
He’s added the thickener of grace above
And He surrounds us - a thickened crust
So here's to the master chef! you see
He wrote and planned our recipe
what a blessing you are to me
in this lifetime of knowing you

To be honest, I lost a little of my steam when you switched the style. But having tried my hand at poetry the last topic I know it is very difficult to keep the pace all the way through.
