You make some great points in this piece. You definitely wrote on topic and show being (or becoming Christian) is not easy. Remember to write out numbers (at least to ten, some experts say to a hundred) and words like second, should be written out always. The Bible is the name of a book so always should be capped when used as the holy book (I go to Bible study, but She gave me her diet bible.) You should check out how to transition from one idea to the next. There's a section on it in the message boards under Jan's Writing Basics. My heart ached for the MC. Alcohol abuse is hard to overcome, so that's a great accomplishment. I enjoyed the read from beginning to end.
I enjoyed the raw honesty in your entry. As you enter more articles you will catch a rhythm in your words that will make the story flow, sweeping the reader along. Having written that, it's true some authors choose the direct approach you have used here and that may be your forever style.
As long as you ae enjoying your writing :)

I appreciate that you are sharing your testimony with others. Writing stories for fun is one thing, but sharing a part of your story is another. I do think there are a few things grammatically that could be improved like spelling out numbers and such, however I do understand that sometimes grammar goes out the window when writing testimonies like that. I've had that problem myself. Maybe writing out the basics of the story and coming back to it later to reread and polish it trying not to look at your part in it would help? I still have not totally mastered this area myself. Testimonies are so hard to write perfectly.
