As she steps further and further away from the picture the more unleveled it appeared. She kept squinting and stretching her eyes, shifting them from left to right, hoping to get a full view of the entire wall all at once.
"Geesh!", she sighed as she repeatedly walked back and forth, removing and replacing the picture for nearly two hours hoping to just get a leveled portrait on a still wall.
Quite frankly, she knew that the wall was not the issue. It was the same wall she hung many pictures on for over three decades and the foundation of her home was quite stable—she had been in that house since she was a young adult. It was something else, maybe her vision was deteriorating, or she was simply too stubborn to follow the instructions.
The ophthalmologist was closed for the day and the only options was for her to give up or take a few minutes to read the instructions, which she regreted, only because she was used to hanging pictures her way--the easy way.
She sat down and analyzed all the things she did and didn’t do, she applied the instructions that she had been skimming over and in a blink of an eye, the picture was finally hung up and leveled.
“It’s amazing what a little discipline will do!â€, she said to herself, as she chopped her vegetables for her late super.
Sitting down preparing to eat, she looked up and gazed at the beautiful view. She enjoyed the feeling of enhancement. Then She chuckled and said to herself, "God is the same God yesterday, today and forever more and if I want to live a balanced and rewarding life I need to buckle down and read His instructions!".
Matthew 6:33 KJV
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you
