Topic: Expect (07/11/13)

Moments before the faintest glimmer appears


Before I have a chance to take any thoughts captive


The messy gears of my mind


Begin their endless grind


What must I accomplish


What will this day bring


Then as the sun breaks across the horizon


I am reminded to be still


Lay it before my Father


He will guide my thoughts


He will direct my steps


Will I let Him


My confidant faith is the assurance of things hoped for


Dare I anticipate His presence


In the ordinary


As I stumble through my day


Flesh demanding precedence


Spirit necessitating obedience


Of course is the anticipated whisper


Come to Me


I will guide you into all Truth


You will find rest


Because


He gently breathed


they who wait for the LORD


shall renew their strength;


they shall mount up with wings like eagles;


they shall run and not be weary;


they shall walk and not faint.


Wait on Me

So beautiful. Love the very simple phrasing although the thoughts behind them are not simple at all, but very deep and mindful. Wonderful entry.

I like the soft tone of this poem. Punctuation would have helped - putting it where it would be used in prose. Even though you never used the word "Expect" the thought is there. It might be better to emphasize it a little stronger for the Challenge. I'm looking forward to reading more of your work.

I got so lost in the beautiful words of this one. Peace and tranquility were mine as I read your glorious directions in which to live by. I have found recently that waiting on God gives me such a sense of peace, just as your lovely poem did. You have a fine gift for writing for the Lord. Excellence in faith!

This is a delightful and faith filled devotional. 'The messy gears of my mind, begin their endless grind.' I certainly identified with those lines. A powerful piece that will speak to many people. I'd like to read more of your work.
