Arrested in a gaol of sorts
Chains of words await their time
In the prison of my mind.
Freedom to express their plea
Are demands made on me
In detention they must wait
Until this jury seals their fate.
In my mind I segregate
Quiet thoughts which can wait
From the ones who weep and wail
Wanting freedom from this jail.
Crime and justice is the cry
Of these words that will not die
Bludgeoning on the edge of thought
Wanting free from where they’re caught.
A noisome dungeon of cluttered clots
Congealing into story plots
Segregation of secret schemes
Stills their voice or so it seems.
Captive thoughts soon break free
Unconstrained they speak to me
Without restraint I write them down
Confined no more they run around.
Unfettered though these thoughts may be
Words remain who wait for me
Shackled still in isolation
A demand is made for probation.
Writers should heed this notation
In their life there’s no vacation
Words and thoughts they crow and crowd
Until their freedom is allowed.

Thanks for stopping by in my entry about God's double vision. I see from your website that you have been a counsellor for some time, so I guess you also sense those extra dimensions of possibilities for clients before they do - without putting on your Sherlock Holmes outfit and turning into a doctrinal detective (or should that be doctrinal defective???)
God bless you as your writing ministry develops.
