Gregory was and still is a funny boy. Even at the age of 2 ½ he had an entire church laughing during a very serious sermon.
You know how innocent children are at the toddler stage. They will say anything, with pure innocence, and not even know what they said was funny.
This one day, we had finished our worship service and things got really quiet. The band was set to play one more song when all of a sudden out of the blue, Gregory chimes to my father sitting beside him, “I tooted Grampa,” quite proud of his achievement. It was all my dad could do to keep from bursting out laughing. My brother just looked over at Gregory and shook his head. I know he was thinking, “Yep, that’s my kid!”
Eventually, the whole church just burst out laughing and the pastor lost his composure and had to turn away from the congregation until he could compose himself again.
I’m sure Gregory was told not to speak out in church, at least using those kinds of references. He is now 13 going on 14 and he remembers it and we all still have a gut wrenching laugh over it.

A small suggestion: don't give your punchline away in the title. I knew the toot was coming.
I liked your ending, too--hope he realizes its only funny from a toddler!
