“My child, you belong to Me. I chose you before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in my sight. You are loved. You are wanted. I paid a great price to set you free.
But I never promised you a life free of pain. You are alive after all.
I assure you, there will be pain in this life. You may experience betrayal, disillusionment, grief, or sorrow. You may have thought you’d live a life where everything worked out and where you’d never know pain.
My child, life is not like that. People suffer. But you have a Comforter, My Holy Spirit, to comfort you and help you heal.
Why would I send you a Comforter if there would be no pain?
I am the God who sees you. I heal you when you are brokenhearted and I bind up your wounds. You will have Me, your Comforter, to comfort you all the days of your life.
I cannot promise you that you will never be hurt again, My love. You are walking with Me on the narrow path and I know it’s hard at times.
But I am at work in you even at your worst times of suffering. I am growing you into the image of My Son and letting you see another aspect of Me.
It is My delight to comfort you. I rejoice over you with singing. I am a good God and My plans for you are good.
Even though you may suffer grief through various trials, these have come to test you…
Will you still love Me even when you don’t get your own way?
Will you still follow Me when people wound you?
Will you praise Me when you don’t understand what I am doing in your life?
Will you trust Me and believe that I am Sovereign over everything that happens in your life?
Remember, this world is not your home. I am preparing you here for your life there. Be faithful to Me, even in your darkest hour. I will never leave you when you need Me the most.
I care about your soul.
You are becoming like My Son, being prepared for glory. In that day, you will see Me face to face and your joy no one will take from you. One day soon, My love, all pain will end, all sorrow will cease and the days of your mourning shall be ended.
You may have been wounded on the way but I will never leave you like that, wounded and bleeding on the narrow road.
There is a Balm in Gilead.
Your wounds are meant to become scars. Tell me about your troubles. I will make it a door of hope and you will come out of the wilderness leaning on Me.
My love is the balm your soul needs.
Please come to Me as you are. I will lavish My love on you and you will glorify Me. I am inviting you to get to know Me better in your times of struggle and difficulty.
When you can’t see Me, trust Me. I want you to walk by faith not by sight. There is a path of growth for you to walk with Me.
I will use your pain for My glory. I will show you who I really am and why I’ve come. Your journey will then help others who are wounded along the road. You will comfort them as I have comforted you.
I will work it all out for good, I promise.
So, will you let me turn your wounds into scars?
My love will do it. Your Comforter, the Holy Spirit, will do it. I will help you be an overcomer. I will always lead you in triumph in Christ.
And when you get to heaven, I will know that you have lived for Me when I see your scars.
I have them too, you know.
