"if you have been trapped by what you said, ensnared by the words of your mouth…" (Proverbs 06:02)
Have you ever said something that "trapped you"? Not something deceptive that was found out, but a situation where you have made some commitment you cannot fulfill or made some promise you can’t keep. In such a situation we are told to humble ourselves, quickly go to the one to whom we have made the commitment and make our plea to have the burden released. This is a tough situation, but ignoring the commitment brings disgrace, and is an offense against your word. Humbling yourself is the right thing to do.
