"For a man's ways are in full view of the Lord, and He examines all his paths" (Proverbs 5:21)
It is said a person's character is what they do when no one is watching. A wise person knows that the LORD is always watching. Psalms 73 speaks of the proud boasting that "the Lord does not see." Your conduct and thoughts are always in "full view" of the Lord, so your confession is not news to God, but a humbling admission to yourself. Certainly God examines your ways. That reality can be a comfort or a warning. Be faithful!
