Not long ago, I was having a discussion about life with a friend of mine at our one of many local Starbucks. He looked down at his coffee and stated that he is wrestling with what to do with his life. I waited a moment and admitted I didn't know what to do about mine either. I don't know what God wants to do with it.

So we sat and pondered our quarter life crisis for a half hour more until he had to go to work. We said our goodbyes, and of course my best thinking on the subject was on the ride home and in the shower later that day. I really don't know what God wants to do with my life; but worse was the question I asked myself next. "What am I living for?" That's the question I've been thinking about the last few days.

Of course, as the answer came to me it all made sense. The not wanting to get up in the morning, waiting for work to just be over, waiting for the morning, and of course waiting for the weekend. Can anyone relate? What happened to being excited about today? What happened to purpose? I'm just living to get life over with.

Somewhere along the line I lost focus. I know I am supposed to live for God. What does that mean though, really? As a Christian bubble child, the Sunday school answer I've run up against was giving all of me over to Christ; my job, my relationships, my finances, Peaches and Patches (the rabbits). What I never could figure out was how. How do I get to the point where I naturally, or supernaturally rather, give over all of myself to God and his purposes for me? You know that He has plans for us as individuals right?

If not, consult the Bible and other resources at your local Christian bookstore. Christians do their homework.

I can't say I have all the right answers on this, but I do have a hint in the Apostle Paul. He lived to accomplish what the Lord Jesus gave him to do; he told people about Jesus, Salvation, planted churches, and encouraged countless believers in life and in his divinely inspired writing.

So keep asking God what He wants for you to do. Then of course, after you possibly have anxiety about it, trust God for the ability to do it and get out there and do it!
