As mother, wife, companion, lover and friend,
Mamma always finds herself at the very end
Of the "To do for" and the "To get" lists,
And the one who seems to be forgotten or missed
When thanksgiving and appreciation are shown
To those who with great joy we've known.
When going shopping, and the money gets low
Things for Mamma are always the first to go
Out of the cart and back on the shelf.
Mamma is always the one to get what's left.
If we need money for school activities or a cool deal,
Mamma is always the one to sacrifice a meal.
Doctor's appointments and meetings at school;
Mamma will take me or she will go is the unwritten rule.
A sick child that stays up all night long
Is always the burden for Mamma to bear alone.
Soiled bottoms and runny noses, Mamma always has to clean.
She's the ruler over dirty clothes and dishes; Yes, Mamma is the queen.
Mamma's work is never done,
And she's always the last to have a little fun.
Yes, Mamma is always the last to get what she wants and even what she needs,
But she makes those sacrifices to assure that her family his happy and pleased.
