I've had it hard through the years;
But with Your word I've learned to overcome my fears;
For, You've shown me that fear is not of You.
But, You give us power and strength to do
What You've called us to do in this life
In spite of the heartaches, pain and strife.
I've had much disappointment and failure along the way,
And have faced many struggles each day,
But You are always there as You said You'd be
In the midst of my sorrow and at the onset of misery.
You are a God that cannot and will not lie,
And You've been there at every breath, at every sigh
Of relief of deliverance, and at every victory I gain.
All I have to do is call upon Your name.
You said You'd never leave or forsake me; and I've found this to be true
Because You manage to continue to love me in spite of the wrong I do.
I'm not much and I don't have much to give,
But You, somehow, made something of the life I live.
I let you down more than I succeed
At following the path You lead
Me down all through the day;
But, You continue to keep me, even when I stray.
There are many things I can say in appreciation for all You do,
But the words that come to mind most are "Thank You".
