Lord, my life seems to be filled with trouble and sorrow
Giving me no hope that joy will come tomorrow
To wash away the failure and disappointment I face
As I try to faithfully run this Christian race.
I feel lost and left in a state of distress
Even when I'm working faithfully and doing my best
To encourage and inspire others to move forward in Your name
In spite of humiliation and being brought to shame
Before the enemy, making him feel as if he's won
The battle in spite of the good works I've done.
Lord, I need to know that You are yet near,
And when I call upon You, You will hear
My cries and my groans of suffering and strife;
My dismay of the pain I endure in this life.
Lord, speak within my very spirit to give me relief
Of my many sorrows and this tear-filled grief.
Lord, only You can save me from Satan's hand
And the pain that he inflicts through man.
Lord, they're tearing my soul apart
And piercing the very depths of my heart.
Please hear my cry and see my tears
And wave Your graceful hand to calm my fears.
You're my only salvation from what I'm going through,
And I have no choice but to put all my trust in You.
