I have been playing this computer card game called pyramid. You must match 2 cards totaling a face value of 13 to dismantle the pyramid. In this version, when you reach a certain number of matched pairs, either from the 5 draw piles, or the pyramid itself, you win.

It is very addicting “ just one more game and then I will stop." Then, 5 more games have gone by. Perhaps someone can relate?

Anyway, I noticed two things today: first, I must be more aware of which cards I match, for there may be two or three ways I could play it that would impact the outcome. Hmm..a lot like life. All my actions have a consequence. The choices I make today affect my today and my tomorrows. I must learn to slow down and think about these choices and live life a little more "on purpose".

Secondly, I may be happily playing the card game, matching pairs and enjoying myself, when suddenly, even though there are more cards on my pyramid itself, it says: GAME OVER. Again, a lot like life. We never know when the Lord will call us home. When it is GAME OVER for us. We may not have done all we wanted to do, said all the things we wanted to say, or experienced all we had planned. We must seize the moments that we are in and maximize them. I remember my mother used to say "don't put off until tomorrow what you could do today."

Thanks Mom, there is some good wisdom in that saying.

Don't put off telling those you love how you feel. Let your family know you are committed. Be faithful, today. Be diligent in all the things God asks of you today. we are not guaranteed a tomorrow. But today is in our grasp.
