BUILDING MY MANSION

I’m building a mansion, up in the sky.
I plan to retire there way by and by.
I never doubt that I am truly God’s own.
He lives deep inside me; I’m never alone.

My mansion beautiful; it’s on a gold street.
It doesn’t need curtains; no secrets to keep.
My timber is free; I have no need for a loan.
Jesus paid the price; His blood bought this home.

My prayers and my worship, the praise that I render;
That is the manner In which, send up my timber.
Faith is the tree that supplies all the wood;
Giving of myself, living life that is good.

Love is the plaster that holds each wall together.
This house will stand; heaven has no bad weather.
Obedience in Christ is what covers the floors.
Salvation, the hinges, which hold up the doors.

Belief is the paint that colors each wall.
Patience, the nails that won’t let them fall.
In Jesus there burns a glowing, hot ember.
Follow the glow and send up good timber.

The steps of this mansion; there are only three.
SURRENDER, the first one, was hardest for me.
CONFESSION, the second; the third is REPENTANCE.
I shall climb them to Glory and a heavenly life sentence.
