Faith

I was walking on a terraced path.
Although the incline was steep,
I walked with an easy, effortless step.

There were others on the path.
All eyes were fixed on the summit.
An area bathed in a brilliant light.

As we neared the top of the hill
We could hear the sounds of
Laughter, song and applause.

When I reached the threshold
I was surrounded by a sea
Of familiar faces.

All were smiling, clapping.
There were shouts of “Good Job,
Welcome Home, Well done.”

Then the crowd parted.
And there stood Jesus.
Our eyes met.

He smiled and
walked toward me.
I fell to my knees.

Jesus took my hands
And lifted me up.
We stood there smiling.

I felt tears on my cheeks
I could only say, over and over
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

After a while,
(time no longer had meaning),
He put his arm around my shoulder.

“Come,” He said.
“Come with me.
I want you to meet my Dad.”
