Sweeter than honey
More comforting than shade on a blistering summer’s day.

Lord, your mercy quenches the thirst on my parched lips.
You shelter my eyes from the glaring judgment of my sin.
Forgiveness
So sweet,
Like no other gift ever received.

Oh my king, you have pardoned my iniquities
The great, the small, the ones yet to come.
You do not number them against me
Nor retaliate when I have failed yet another time.

Your mercies, new and fresh as the dew on the blades of grass in early morning.
How can I ever repay your kindness?

There is no way – your gift too great to ever repay.
I can not repay,
I can only accept.
