Lord, so many needs… everywhere I look I see opportunities to give or to serve.
The coworker whose house burned to the ground. Everything is gone and she had no insurance. The single mother of 4 young ones with no food in the refrigerator, and nothing under the tree. The elderly in the neighborhood that are house-bound and need food, companionship and errands run. The friend who’s wife is dying…

Lord, there are sick people that need medical care. There are those who are not insured, and those who have reached their maximum coverage but still need care. There are workers struggling to stretch the paycheck. There are young couples trying to get a start at their new life together. Lord, marriages ending, and the turmoil that follows….

What is it, Father, that you want to do through me in any of these situations?

I feel like the puny resources I have will make no tangible difference, yet I am compelled to participate. I am absolutely drawn to join you in meeting needs. But Lord, where do I start? Who do I say yes to? Who do I say no to?

I am so thankful that YOU are God and I am not. You are capable. None of these circumstances, or the millions of other scenarios played out all over the world every day…none of these catches you unaware. You are always ready to move in our behalf – to bless, to teach, to assist, to provide.

Lord, I lift up all the situations that are in my little corner of the world. I put them squarely in your very capable hands.

You alone are all powerful, all knowing. Please have your way in each situation and in my heart afresh.
