Poor me, Life is difficult, continued

Life is sadder and sadder.

My son lives in another state and I miss him like crazy. It has been over a year since I saw him last. He is so fun to be with, and we get along really well – sharing a similar demented humor. Poor us. Because we both are part of the American workforce, and gainfully employed, we cannot just drop everything and get together whenever we want. We are FORCED to call, email, text message or send letters and packages to each other. Life is tough.

I wonder what mother’s did before there were phones, computers, text messaging…. Before letters and packages could be sent… What did they do when there was physical distance between them and their adult working children?

How did they connect in times before airlines and Amtrak?

How on earth did it feel to miss your dear ones and not know when or if you would ever see them again?

Hmmmm, maybe life isn’t so difficult after all.
