"I'm not really into that stuff:

I ended up, standin'
there and tellin' JOKES."

[GENTLE SMILE.]
"I know,

(Philosophical shrug.)
"It's just.......TALKIN'
about that stuff
EMBARRASSES me......
Ya KNOW?"

[NOD.]

"I'd be happy to WRITE
somethin'..... but then, what
I had to say would probably
SCARE EVERYBODY!"

"It doesn't scare
Me,
child."

"Yeah, but......You're,
like....GOD, and all.
(Squint up at the ceiling.)
AREN'T YOU?"

[SMILE.]

"So......what am I
supposed to CALL YOU
now?"

[PATIENT SIGH.]

"They tell me,
You're JESUS,
AND the Holy SPIRIT....
AND the Jewish GOD!"

[PATIENT SILENCE.]

"YIKES!"
(Sassy smile.)
"That's one meshugunah
BAGEL!"

[CHUCKLE.]

"That's a whole lotta
gefilte fish on ONE
PLATE!"

[SILENCE.]

"So, eh.......when
are Ya gonna tell
me the TRUTH?"

"About what,
Mein kinder."

"Ya know:
about YOU!"

"Just open
your eyes,
precious."

"Yeah?
And, THEN WHAT?"

"And then,
My sweet child;
read
My Word."
